Aerobics

Today in P.E we did aerobics it was great fun because we got to make-up our own aerobics moves!
It was quite good yet we could have done bench ball (both of us liked it).
In literacy we did our presentations on our peace makers of the world.
Maths was boring as usual.
Science was great because Miss McBryan burned a piece of newspaper and that is quite exiting(for us).

Mystery solution

Today in science we realised what was in our four prediction bowls. Some people were surprised about what the solution had left in the four bowls. The sugar went all gooey in the bowl when the water evaporated. Most of the class said that the sugar was jelly but it was not. The salt came out in bigger crystals than Ms Ingham put in the bowl , people in our class said the salt was pretty because it turned into a nice pattern of crystals, there was one bowl that just had water in it and that bowl was clear. Ms Ingham said that she put poison in one bowl but nobody beliefs her, some people thought it was flour but it can't be flour because flour does not dissolve. We had a really fun day.

Drama

Today in drama,we had a teacher called Elliot.
We played lots of games, which made our minds work.
Some of the games were when Elliott pretended to roll a log towards us and we had to jump or avoid the sword, lights camra action pretending to be celebrities. Another thing we did was to walk around saying,"Hello, how are you today!" to every person that we met.
Eventually,we had to get in to a group of 3s or 4s and make up our own short play to perform to the rest of the class.
We had to make them funny. In the play we had to imagine that we were in the jungle and in the performance had to include slow motion.

After the activity, all of the children and the teacher were very pleased, excited about what they had achieved in the drama season.
Thank you.

The day we beat yr five!

Even though the weather was icy cold, we still beat yr 5 girls at football! And of course they went storming off (such bad losers).
Today was also our first day with Ms Mc Bryan. Mrs Booth went because she just had to have a baby! We think that the baby(s)
are going to be twins, due to the way she got a bit too big! Anyway, today in maths we did (more) division, which I really think I need to work on!
Back to yr 5, the boys let us down because they were beaten by yr 5 boys. I wonder why boys think girls are rubbish at football, because we so beat them! Also the most grimey part off the glum day at school was art because still life is sooooo boring, really who would want to live their life still or look at a picture of somebody living their life still, well we wouldn't.

How To Make A Face

Yesterday, we made our own face, to make a face you will need a piece of paper matching your skin tone, two googly eyes and coloured string matching your hair colour. Here are the instructions:-
First cut out your piece of coloured paper to make it look like 2d head.
Next stick your googly eyes on your head (your paper one) in the position of your own.
Finally stick your coloured string on your paper head to look like your own hair.
And there you have it! You are ready to hang your paper up on a wall.

trapped in school... aghhhhh!!!!!!!!

As the title will most likely of told you, we are trapped in school. AGHHHHHHH! Well sort of. There has been progressingly horrific weather today, and all the trees have been here there and every where, blowing twigs and sticks ( thankfully not trees!)all over the place. Actually, that's a lie. One tree has collapsed, (TIMBER!!!!!) all across the front of school gates. Luckily it didn't fall on the school. But unluckily it has blocked the exit, meaning we have to go through the car park to get out. So, I suppose that means we lied again. Were not really trapped, but we thought it would make you read this anyway. We are pretty unrealible.

Mmmmmmmmmm! Cabbage........!

In science today we did a very very dangerous experiment involving cabbage! Dun dunn dunnn......! First Mrs Ingham put the cabbage into the cooking pot. Mrs Ingham put in lots and lots of salt! Mrs Ingham put a plate over the cooking pot with all the cabbage and salt in hot water.About 10 minutes later Mrs Ingham lifted the plate up from the cooking pot and made us all taste it and tasted of nothing at all!

The doves

Today, we were making origamy doves in memory of Martin Luther King Jr, because its his birthday today. This is how we made them......all you need is a square piece of paper and a pair of sissors.

1. You need to fold your peice of paper in half(from edge to edge) and then open it back up.
2. After that you fold the the corners into the crees you have just made (like a paper airerplan)
3. Fold it in half again(on your original crees)
4. Know you should have trapeiseam, (make sure the longer edge is at the top), take the tip of your shape and fold it down so about an inch of your paper is showing, then fold it back on its self a few times.
5. Once you have done that open you paper up again and push down the crees in the centre, then fold it back up again.
6. This is where your sissors come in handie. Cut a diagonal, going up, (about half way) at the opposite end of the head.
7. Then cut a straight line from the bottom to meet the end of your other cut.
8. Taking the bottom corner, fold it up so about half an inch is showing and do the same on the other side.

if you would like pictures of the dove or picture instructions e-mail the school.

A FUN DAY!

Today was a really fun day, we did a project about Martin Luther King Jr. We had to write a three minute presentation about Martin Luther King Jr. Today we also played bench ball in P.E. but no one won, it was 14 all. My favourite part of the day was P.E. because I really like sports. But I also liked maths because it wasn't too hard or too easy.
It was raining so we had to eat inside but we still had a really fun day!

P.E

Today during P.E we did a team activity. We did green team vs red team vs yellow team vs blue team. First we had to carry bean bags on our heads while crossing a plank. It was a close match and green team and red team tied in first and yellow team came second and blue team came last. Secondly, we had an easier event which was the one when we had to hold a ball at the same time cross a plank which I thought was quite so I got chosen to do it twice. Our third event was a hockey game the rules were quite simple we had to hold the hockey stick and dribble the ball in a straight line and go round a pylon. The results when we finished were: green team came first with 27 points, red team came third with 20 points, yellow team came second with 25 points and blue team came last with 17 points.

Tuesday!

First of all we did Literacy about Martin Luther King Junior. We watched a video and it showed the march of Washington. Martin Luther King Jr was born on January the 15th 1929 and was famous for stopping racisism.

After break we did Messy Science! We had to separate gravel, water and flour and end up with clear water. For some people it was very messy, for other people it wasn't!

Maths was multiplying and everyone did well. Next was Art and we were doing Sketches of our hands in different angles. We did this in biro. We filled our hands in very neat detail. It was quite fun!

Well this was our fun filled Tuesday!

ka-boom!

Today was really fun especially science in which we did the subject on dissolving where we tested if sugar , salt and sand would dissolve or not , obviously sand didn't dissolve but the cooking oil was a real failure as nothing dissolved in it. We called this ka-boom because we thought when we mixed it, it would blow up, sadly it didn't blow. In english and history we were working on Martin Luther King Jr we had to act out an incident on a bus involving Rosa Parks which then set off a chain of events where Martin Luther King Jr led many boycotts against white only and colured only sections on buses and many other things.

Welcome to our blog!

This is our first attempt at publishing online. We'll be writing about what we get up to in school - in the classroom, in the playground, our lessons, lunchtimes, after school activities. Basically, this will be a record of what we get up to in Year 6.
